Mechanical Services Planner

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional, technical, and planning support for a full project cycle with minimum supervision.
  • Works directly with the Mechanical Supervisors to identify resources required to perform scheduled work.
  • Verifies the availability of labor, materials, accessibility and work planning and controls prior to scheduling work or arranges for appropriate alternatives.
  • Meets daily with the Mechanical Supervisors to develop the future week’s schedule, reviews the status of scheduled work orders, and discusses new, incoming work orders.
  • Works closely with the Mechanical Supervisors concerning work planning.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement, planning or performance through analysis of work order flow, project demands and expectations.
  • Reports to the Mechanical Services General Supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ten years’ related experience in the mechanical trades.
  • Experience coordinating multi-trade projects.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience preparing detailed work plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in work planning, project planning and project scheduling.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Expertise in Work Management Systems.
  • Experience working closely with engineers, multiple trades, and scientific community.
  • Specialized training in a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $ 91,400- 124,000 year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
