Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under general supervision, performs general cleaning and housekeeping duties in all Laboratory buildings.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Requires a High School diploma, GED, or higher.
• Must have 1-year prior commercial cleaning experience in stripping and waxing floors.

• Must have commercial carpet cleaning experience.

• Must have the ability to operate commercial cleaning machines.
• Must have the ability to work 07:00-15:30 or 12:00 -20:30.
• Must possess a valid NYS driver's license.


Preferred:

• Experience with team cleaning.

• Experience with green chemicals.


Other Requirements:
• Must be able to work/cooperate in a team environment.

• Ability to climb portable ladders.

• Ability to use a vacuum backpack.

• Must be able to complete all required training within the 3 months’ probation period.
• Must have a telephone and must provide the number to BNL for callout and contact purposes.
• Must possess written and verbal skills.
• Must be capable of following written instruction procedures, work orders, and similar documents.
• Must possess the writing skills to sufficiently complete work orders and other required documents.
• Must be able to communicate verbally with customers, fellow workers, and supervisors.
• Must be able to complete all the requirements of the Job Training Assessment.

Environmental, Health, and Safety Considerations:
• Standing, bending, and lifting for a prolong period of time.
• Moderate lifting < 30 lbs.
• Heavy lifting > 30 lbs.
• Work in warm environments.
• Work around moving machinery.
• Physical coordination dexterity and balance.
• Use of powered operating hand-tools.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, and dust.
• Ability to maintain respirator qualifications.
• Ability to wear proper PPE such as safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection.
