The mission of the Information Technology Division is to provide expertise in computing hardware and software support, and telecommunications services to the Laboratory. The Division’s Web Services Group works closely with the Media & Communications Office to design websites that communicate the Lab's mission, its research, and achievements. The Group administers the Lab's top-tier public web presence and is responsible for its design and overall content strategy.
The Information Technology Division (ITD) has an opening for a Content Management Specialist that will be responsible for preparing and uploading daily web content for public and employee online communications. The successful applicant will work with a small, highly motivated team of senior developers and web designers within ITD's Web Services Group. Responsibilities of the position include daily upload of content (text and images) to the Laboratory's content management system, digital preparation of artwork and photography (cropping, resizing, etc.) for online posting, edits to existing websites including text changes and adding/updating links and files, and providing first-line support for Web Services customers throughout the Laboratory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Upload text and images into the Laboratory’s Content Management System
Digital image preparation including editing, cropping, and optimization for online distribution
Interface with writing staff to prepare content as directed
Provide first-line support for online service customers throughout the Laboratory
- Editing of static web content
NOTE: this is part-time position (20-hr/wk).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Microsoft Expression Web (or similar editing tool)
Excellent written communication skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with content management platforms such as Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, or equivalent
