Oxide Molecular Beam Epitaxy Group, Condensed Matter Physics and Materials Science Division
Postdoctoral research associate in charge of 1) building a state-of-the art, ultra-low-noise system for characterization of Josephson junctions, and utilizing it to study high-Tc tunnel junctions, 2) lithography, fabrication, and study of nano-scale devices, 2) maintaining and operating two 0.3 K, 9T superconducting-magnet systems equipped with a He liquefier, and performing cryogenic transport and magnetic measurements, 3) conducting high magnetic field measurements at user facilities.
- PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing, building, maintaining, and using cryogenic transport measurement equipment and sophisticate, ultra-low noise laboratory electronics.
- Extensive experience with characterization and study of Josephson junctions, and thorough understanding of the physics involved.
- Record of publications in high-impact journals.
Experience with cuprate superconductors and high-Tc junctions.
BNL policy requires that research associate appointments be made to individuals who have received their doctorate within the past five years.
